Galway Fashion Trail | Spring Summer Edit

Earlier this month I was lucky enough to get to attend Galway Fashion Trail as part of Galway Fashion Week. There is really no other city in the world quite like Galway this is just one of the many reasons why I think it is so important to have events where we can show our cities true potential.

The morning began with a private breakfast with Galway Now Magazine in the Raw Penthouse Suite located on the 4th floor of the Radisson Blu. First of all the view from the penthouse is breathtaking. I don't think there was a blogger in the room who didn't capture a shot of the perfect views of Lough Atalia. The suite was also beautiful with its modern interiors and artisan twist.

Once all the bloggers and press had arrived, breakfast was served. The breakfast included delicious mango, passion fruit and ginger smoothies, strawberry and vanilla fool, greek yogurt served with Spring Berry compote and Athenry granola. As if this wasn't enough we were then served buttermilk pancakes with streaky bacon, stuffed portobello mushrooms and avocado with poached eggs. Everything was divine and we were truly spoiled.

As we tucked into our breakfast the first fashion show of the day took of showcasing stunning outfits from the fabulous boutique Harper. Shoes to die for by Sheneil shoes, beautiful millinery by Brid O'Driscoll and Majella Lennon Dalton. The models were from Catwalk Modeling Agency, the makeup was by Aisling K Makeup and the model's hair was styled by Sarah Mason and her team. We were also fortunate enough to see pieces from some of the designers from the Irish Fashion Innovation Awards. Pieces were shown by Louise Porter and INNU.

We also got the opportunity to meet with a few local businesses based in Galway including Sheneil Shoes, Jewel Box and Optique Opticians. It was a great opportunity to meet the people behind the brand especially when you follow them religiously on social media.

Once the breakfast and the fashion show were over it was time to make our way into Galway's city center to start the fashion trail. We were kindly chauffeured into the city by Bradley Renault. I walk past Bradley showrooms everyday adoring not only the beautiful showrooms but also the wide choice of high-end cars they have on offer. From Audi's to Range Rover's you really are spoiled for choice not to mention The Galway Player's absolutely stunning Renault Megane. I have my eye on the classic white Range Rover which is usually parked outside. I believe that Victoria Beckham designed the interiors but don't quote me on that one.

First stop of the day is where the magic happened in none other than award winning stylist Sarah Mason Professional, We got to meet Sarah and she spoke to us about the inspiration behind the models looks. We then attended six fashion shows throughout the day including Swamp, Greenes Shoes, Colette Latchford, Brown Thomas, Choice and Willow. All shows were fantastic but my favorites had to be Brown Thomas and Willow. Their collections are to die for and are better suited for my age.

We had a scrumptious lunch at Revive Cafe and again were completely spoiled. I have seen so much about this place all over social media and couldn't believe I had never been. No matter what you ask for they have you covered and the staff are so genuine and welcoming it is just such a lovely place to dine.

We ended what was an absolutely fantastic day in the Front Door Pub. Only in Galway will you go from a Fashion Trail to a Gin Festival in a split of a second. We were treated to canapes and finger food and even taught how to make signature aromatic and elderflower Gin & Tonics and of course got to sample a few cheeky ones too.

Thank you so much to Galway Now, The Radisson Blu, Bradley Renault, Revive Cafe, The Front Door and Into The West Blogger Network for having me along and to all the stores for holding such outstanding fashion shows.

Until next time...

My Galway Fashion Trail Experience & Survival Guide

Last Saturday morning I arose as early as I possibly could to ensure that I was fully prepared for the day ahead. It was the morning we were all waiting for. The morning of Galway Fashion Trail. This was my fourth time to attend a Fashion Trail hosted and created by Golden Egg Productions  and Galway Now Magazine  in collaboration with Into The West Blogger Network. So as you can imagine I have really enjoyed each and every experience.

The morning began with a lavish Blogger's Breakfast in Colm Quinn BMW showrooms. Before we were chauffeured around the city ahead of the eight fashion shows that were to take place that day. Colm Quinn's BMW showrooms are absolutely stunning, which adds an even more luxurious experience. I couldn't help but take outfits photos in such a prestigious environment.

The eight fashion shows on the day took place in Colette Latchford, Greene's Shoes featuring Galway Hat Shop, Treasure Chest, Willow, Rococo, Choice, Kilkenny and Harper. All eight shows proved how much Galway's high street has to offer. Milliner's such as Majella Lennon, Brid O'Driscoll and Suzie Mahony also collaborated with exclusive boutiques on the day. We also got a glimpse of Colin Burke's high fashion collection which left us dreaming of sitting front row of Paris Fashion Week.

With a few moments to spare, we made our way to Caprice Cafe which has the most beautiful cream interiors which go oh so perfectly with my Instagram theme if I do say so myself. We were treated to lunch and their infamous organic coffee. If you haven't tried the mocha's here what are you waiting for? We finished the day with a 'Wrap Party' in the Front Door Pub in Galway, which is a very popular spot for locals and tourists a like.

From start to finish the day was a huge success. #GalwayFashionTrail was trending number 1 on twitter from 11:30am which really proves the importance of having bloggers and press at an event if you are looking for high profile media attention.

Now that I feel am an experienced Fashion Trail attendee I thought that I would put together a 'Survival Guide' for any newbie bloggers attending the event or for any guests attending the event for the very first time.

My Galway Fashion Trail Survival Guide

1. Preparation is key
Fail to prepare... Prepare to fail. This quote does not only apply to exams but also very much to Galway Fashion Trail. Check the weather in advance, lay out your clothes out the night before. Pack your handbag the night before. Ensure that your phone and power banks are fully charged, believe me, you will need them. Anything that  you need to make your morning run smoother have ready to go. This can be something as simple has having your hair straighter plugged in so you don't have to go looking for plugs wasting time.

2. Physical Comfort
How you look and dress is always important, but also taking into consideration that comfort is key. You will be on those pins all day so how are you going to take in all the beautiful shows that you will be experiencing if all you are thinking about is how much your feet are killing you and how much you are looking forward to sitting down.

3. Location
If you are living in Galway make sure that you have your taxi booked the night before to avoid any delays. If you have to travel to Galway for the event make sure that you pick a hotel with easy access to both the location of the Bloggers Breakfast and the Wrap Party. This will not only save you time but also money as you wont have to spend as much on transport.

4. Snacks
Throughout the day bloggers and press get treated to complimentary  breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. But it is a long day and you are on your feet so make sure to have a bottle of water in your bag to stay hydrated and a few snacks to keep your going until the next rest stop.

I had such an amazing day at the Fashion Trail and believe that each and every event gets better and better. Thank you so much to Sinead and Saibh from Into The West Blogger Network, the team at Golden Egg Productions and Galway Now. Colm Quinn BMW Showrooms, Caprice Cafe, the Front Door Pub and all the boutiques that put on such incredible shows and for spoiling us with your beautiful gifts and generousity.

Yours stylishly

Ted Baker Autumn Winter Collection

Image c/o Ted Baker (Pinterest)

Summer time in Ireland is always a bit hit and miss but this year more than ever, even though we didn't get the worse weather it just seems to have flown by. Now that we are in the last few days of August our priorities have severely changed from planning holidays and outfits to focusing on appropriate work wear and college attire. I for one love Autumn. I love knitted jumpers, hot chocolate beside the fire and watching the X Factor curled up in a cozy blanket. But my favourite part of all is Autumn fashion.

As I was browsing online looking at the latest trends I of course had to check out Ted Baker's A/W collection. I have always been a fan of Ted Baker and my love for the brand grows more over time. As I was browsing I stumbled across the Ted Baker Botanical Trail Collection  exclusive to John Lewis. I thought the collection was beautiful and I love how floral's were brought into this autumn collection. It has that perfect autumnal vibe that we all want in out A/W wardrobe but adding floral's in deep navy and oxblood makes it the perfect collection for people like me who aren't quite ready to let go of summer. I always like to take inspiration from latest collections while staying true to my own sense of style and this is another reason why I love Ted Baker they always have the perfect blush, creams, whites and grey's in luxury knitwear which work very well in the winter wardrobe.

Here are just a few of my favourites from the collection:

As you can see no matter what season it is blush and cream always have a way of making it into my wardrobe. What are your favourite wardrobe staples for autumn winter?

How To Style The Biker Jacket

Image c/o Pinterest

The 'Biker Jacket' has always been a classic for both men and women and for this autumn/winter the trend is just as popular. Although styles do change throughout the seasons the basics are always the same. When I was younger I never considered myself cool enough to own or wear a biker jacket. But what I have learnt that when buying into the latest trends it is still possible to hold on to your own sense of style. My instagram feed has been full of this look as of late which makes it really difficult to avoid this trend. The more I see it the more I love it and would consider this piece the perfect wardrobe staple for autumn/winter 2016.

The Biker Jacket

The Biker Jacket itself can be the finishing touch to any outfit. Giving a simple outfit some edge, while also keeping the outfit classic with its structured tailoring and clean cut details. Channeling your inner Kate Moss or Kendal Jenner you will be ticking all of the most stylish boxes.

The Pussy Bow

I for one love the pussy bow trend and was delighted when I saw that it was coming back with a bang this autumn/winter. It is sophisticated and feminine but can look super cool styled with a black biker jacket

Super Skinny Jeans

I love a good pair of well fitted super skinny jeans styled with any outfit but especially this pair as they help to elongate your legs, styled with a pussy bow blouse and a black biker jacket it is the perfect outfit for a shopping trip, coffee or cocktails with friends or even for date night.

The Perfect Shoes

Whether you are a flats or heels kind of girl this outfit will go perfectly with both. For day time my favourite shoe of choice would have to be the Valentino Rockstud Ballerina Flats and for night time the infamous Gianvito Rossi Plexi Pumps. Both pairs of these shoes remain firmly on my wish list.

Saint Laurent Monogram Shoulder Bag

Another luxury item on my wish list is the Saint Laurent Monogram Shoulder Bag. It is such a classic and will go with almost any outfit. It is also perfect for both day and night.

Sunglasses

What outfit is complete without a pair of sunglasses. Sunglasses have been a must have accessory for me as of late not only for the sunny weather but to be worn as a hair band to keep my hair out of my face. I love this look. The Celine Shadow Sunglasses are the perfect choice in my opinion as they go with a number or outfits and with the black and tortoise shell colouring they are perfect for bringing outfits together.

Have you bought you 'Biker Jacket' yet? If so how are you styling it?

Best Dressed Lady At Halo

Galway Race Week gets bigger every single year and this year was no exception. From twitterinstagramfacebook and of course snap chat (username: kerrieanneburke) I was constantly updated on all the action. Galway really does know how to hold a celebration. Unfortunately I was very busy with work that week but the one event that I was able to attend made up for all that I was missing.

I was kindly invited as a VIP blogger to Halo which is a nightclub located in Galway's city center right in the middle of all of the excitement. The event I was invited to was called 'Dress To Impress'. It was the night of Ladies Day at the races so it really gave the day something a little extra. Our invitation stated that we were to arrive to the event at 9:30 but a bunch of the blogger girls and guys decided to meet up for cocktails and a catch up before the event began.

We decided to meet in the Bite Club which is another cool venue just a few doors away from Halo so it was the perfect location. The Bite Club is really cool and has an American style diner vibe. We stayed there for a little while catching up and sipping on slushies before it was time for the main event.

On arrival to Halo we were greeted by our hostess who then brought us to Halo's VIP Area. We were then served glasses of prosecco and treated like royalty for the entire night. The staff are always so friendly. The event kicked off with our blogger friend Laura Fox and special quest Roz Purcell judging the 'Best Dressed Lady'. Our excitement grew when Ruth from The Beauty Kemple got chosen as a deserving finalist.

Styling The Satin Bomber Jacket

The most sort after piece of this season was of course the satin bomber jacket. It was an item I had my eye on for quite a while but was uncertain to how well it would fair out in my extremely girly wardrobe. Kylie Jenner could pull it off so effortlessly. Looking super cool and really working that sport luxe trend. I loved the idea of this jacket the perfect item for the transitioning seasons and something to throw on as the evenings became chillier.
But I still wasn't fully convinced until I saw Olivia Palermo rocking the tend with her signature classic but feminine style. I decided to take the plunge and invest.

Staying true to your own sense of style is so important when trying to build that perfect wardrobe. It is so easy to be taken in by the trends that are here and now without knowing if you really love it. When I started to search for my bomber the khaki ones were poping up everywhere.  As beautiful as they are I do think that they are a bit to 'Kylie Jenner' for me so I decided to look back at my colour palette and for anyone who knows me will know that it's cream and blush.

It was love at first sight when I came across this one. I was suddenly filled with so much outfit inspiration I couldn't leave it behind. The satin is so soft with a beautiful sheen that gives it such a feminine vibe and feels so luxurious to wear. To say I am happy with my purchase it an understatement, as I want to wear it every day and it makes me so happy to look at it.

How do you style your bomber jacket? If you have any suggestions I would love if you could comment below.

A Parisian Afternoon With Brand Connection Paris In The Merrion Hotel

On Saturday morning I set off bright and early to catch a train to Dublin. I was invited by Brand Connection Paris to a VIP event in The Merrion Hotel. I got the invitation over a month ago and I have been excited ever since. Anyone who has read my blog or who follows me on instagram will know that I have a love for designer handbags and luxury pieces. Not that I own many but a girl can dream.

I arrived to The Merrion Hotel at 3pm and was greeted by the Brand Connection Paris team. The hotel is located on Upper Merrion Street in Dublin's city center. It is proclaimed one of Dublin's most luxurious hotels and is the first choice for high-level business meetings. The event took place in The Wellesley Room, which is the largest private room in the hotel. It is located on the ground floor and opens up to The Fitzgerald Room. The interior decor is beautiful, deep blue with ornate rococo plaster work. It has tall shutter windows with views of the 18th century classic garden. It had a real Parisian vibe which made it the perfect location for this event.

I was greeted in the foyer by the Brand Connection Paris team and was then brought to The Wellesley Room to view the collection. The collection is to die for. The brand specializes in French luxurious brands such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Celine and Hermes. As I was viewing the collection, I was introduced to the CEO of the company. It was so surreal to meet him. He was charming and is so passionate about the brand. He told me all about the history of the brand, how he started and his plans for the future.

The handbags are vintage but they are in perfect condition and authenticity guaranteed  so you know they are the real deal. During the event I was able to take my time looking around and get a real feel for all of the bags. I fell head over heels for the Chanel classic double flap. It really is a timeless piece which will never date. I was in handbag heaven for the entire afternoon and really enjoyed my time there. Thank you so much to the team for inviting me I am looking forward to the next event already.

Botanical Blooms with Farfetch

Dressing up begins at the age of five and never truly ends...

I remember when I was a little girl my grandmother and auntie used to spoil me with the most elaborate and embellished dresses you could have ever imagined. Teamed with the prettiest pair of floral shoes. Not the most practical for a five year old but I loved them. The floral patterns, the jewels and vibrant colour's made them feel extra special. I felt like a princess. Little did I know that this very moment was the very beginning of my love for fashion. It was the first time that I realized that what I wore changed the way I felt inside. My passion for fashion is still growing more and more to this day and that is just one of the reasons why I am delighted to be teaming up with Farfetch and Dolce and Gabbana for this collaboration.

Farfetch is an online luxury store housing 400 designer boutiques all under one address offering an inspirational shopping experience to the worlds most fashion forward consumers. Dolce and Gabbana is just one of the designers that I am styling today. It is a luxurious Italian brand which is constantly evolving but always staying true to its roots, expressing new forms of elegance presenting itself as a modern classic based on superior content and creativity. The Dolce and Gabbana woman is strong, confident and elegant. She is passionate about true style and knows how what she wear's, should make here feel.

The spring/summer collection is really beautiful at the moment and has really inspired me to add more floral's into my capsule wardrobe. It is very fun and colourful, mixing prints and textures creating the perfect summer look to celebrate the warmer temperatures. The look I styled today will take you to a garden party, a barbecue, or even lunch on a yacht in Cannes. The key item in this look is the Dolce and Gabban floral pump. This floral pump always gets all the attention where ever it goes and can be styled with a number of different looks. Taking inspiration from the catwalk I broke up the prints to show my own personal style but still staying true to the Dolce and Gabbana trend incorporating different fabrics and textures, while also including the mix of floral's.

1. Saint Laurent Bag

A little white bag is a wardrobe staple for me throughout the summer. It will go with all of your outfits and can be worn day or night to any event you may have.

2. MSGM Front Pleat Shorts

I love tailored shorts that really show off your waist and compliment your curves and I believe that these are the perfect pair of shorts to do just that.

3. Dolce and Gabbana Poppy Print Pumps

A pair of floral pumps are something that I believe every girl should have in here wardrobe. Especially these from Dolce and Gabbana as they are the ultimate show stoppers that can be worn with a very simple outfit or taking inspiration from the catwalk and pairing them with mixed or matching patterns. However you decide to where them they will be adored by all.

4. Fendi Mirrored Sunglasses

When styling this look I wanted to keep the accessories quite simple to let the floral's do the talking. I thought these sunglasses from Fendi were elegant and the perfect way to finish of this outfit.

5. Moncler Floral Print Jacket

I was inspired by the bomber jacket to include this Moncler floral print jacket in this look. I think it will look very high fashion draped over your shoulders with a simple white top or worn as usually if your so wish.

6. Saint Laurent Lace Blouse

White lace is one of my favourite pieces to wear. I love how classic and expensive it looks.

7. Dolce and Gabbana Perfume

Dolce Rosa Excelsa is one of my favouite perfumes and the packaging is so beautiful I couldn't leave it out of this floral inspired look.

8. Astley Clarke Heart Biography Bracelet

I love how dainty this bracelet is. Daintly style jewelry is very popular at the moment and I thought it was perfect with this look.

All of the mentioned pieces in this post are shopable via Farfetch and at the moment they are offering up to 50% off - you're welcome!

Where To Find Designer Handbags For Less Featuring DesignerBid

Some girls dream of their closets been full of designer pieces while others dream of been able to treat themselves to a designer piece of luxury every now and then. Which ever category you fall into I have found the perfect website for you. Have you ever found yourself wandering around Harrods or Selfridges catching a glimpse of that YSL or Christian Louboutin  handbag that you have been lusting over for so long. You run over and start to admire it only to realize how much it costs and you wonder how you will ever be able to afford it. Well wonder no more...

Designer Bid  is a new high end luxury online auction destination where you can find all of your favourite designer brands for up to 95% off the retail prize. The site is really easy to use. You simply register and are automatically awarded 5 free bids to use on any auction of your choice. The website features brands such as Chloe, Chanel, Louboutin, Prada and many more of the most sought after luxury designer brands. Once you have decided  which bag you fancy and what auction you want to partake in all you need to do is purchase a bidding package ranging from €15 all the way up to €300. Once you have decided how much you are willing to bid all you need to do is hit the bid button and your bid will be placed. The clock begins to count down over the number of days the auction is on. Once it gets down to the last 15 seconds this is where the fun begins.

Each time the clock gets to 15 seconds if another bid is placed between 15-0 seconds the clock is brought back up to 15 seconds. The clock will continue to reset every 15 seconds for as long as bids are being placed. When the clock gets to 0 the buzzer says going once, going twice, checking. Checking means that it is checking for autobids. The last person who bids closest to the timer wins. All auctions start at €0.00 and is raised by 1 cent for every bid. You can see all other bidders amounts throughout the auction. This will help you to stay ahead of the game, you can also set up an autobids. This means that if you have to leave your phone or computer. Autobid is there to help you out, you can decide on the amount of bids you want blocked and the system automatically places these bids for you at random. Designer Bid gives you the opportunity to nab some trust worthy luxury designer goods for a very inexpensive cost. Some have even bagged themselves the beautiful Chloe Drew bag for €20 and the classic Chanel for €26. How amazing would that be?

Christian Louboutin Triloubi

This beautiful Christian Louboutin  Triloubi small chain bag in 'Ballerina', is up for auction today. It is a small bag perfect for a special event or cocktail party. It is divided into three roomy compartments lined with the Louboutin signature red interiors. This bag is a show stopper. Styled with your favourite pair of skinny's or leather trousers with heels or on those warmer days with a simple white dress or shorts. This bag will get a lot of attention wherever you go. It is quite a simple bag but with the slight studded detail it makes it very unique and gives it that luxury vibe that we all want in a designer handbag.

This YSL Saint Laurent bag is an upcoming auction this week, I think it is so cute and the perfect for summer bag. It would look so chic with an all white outfit or even styled with flora's or vibrant colours to make it really stand out. It is small in size but roomy enough to fit the essentials. Which makes it perfect for going out fun dinner or a fun event. Lately I  prefer smaller bags as I always bring to much out with me so my bag is super heavy.

Make sure to keep an eye on Designer Bid's website to see what bags are up for auction and also make sure to follow them on FacebookInstagram and Twitter for regular updates and some serious handbag envy.

Editing Your Wardrobe

Over the past couple of weeks I have been making a huge effort to have a spring clean and a good clear out. I love having a super clean room and office space. The cleaner and tidier I am the more organised I am and the better I work. I am usually really tidy as it stresses me out when my space is untidy and full of clutter. But the one place that I have found really difficult to organize lately is my wardrobes. I don't like parting with my clothes especially if they have sentimental value. For ages I kept getting so far, then getting overwhelmed and stopping. This was really slowing me down in the mornings and resulted in me washing and wearing the same few outfits over a couple of weeks. A bit pointless when I have two wardrobes and a clothing rail in my room full of clothes and where's the fun in that. I knew something had to be done and soon because by this stage it was getting on the scale of the bridesmaid dress wardrobe in 27 Dresses.

Here are a few of my tips on how I over came it:

a. Clean, tidy and organize the room where your wardrobe is stored because it is about to get very messy.

b. If like me you find it hard to part with your clothes ask your Mum, sister or best friend to help you out. Someone who will be brutally honest about whether you should keep an item of clothing or not.

c. Before you start have a quick scan of your wardrobes and start to remove any empty hangers and create a pile on your floor out of the way.

d. Take out every piece of clothing you own and try them on. If you try something on and you instantly love it and it looks good on you then its a keeper. Make sure its clean and has no stains or damage. If its dirty or stained put it into your washing basket or create a dry cleaners pile. If it needs to be repaired create a pile for repairs.

e. For the clothes that you absolutely love and are keeping place them on the correct hanger and place them on a spare set of empty rails or on your bed until you wardrobe is empty.

f. As you go through your wardrobe you will begin to find items that you haven't worn in ages and maybe even forgot about. Check for stains and damages. If they can't be repaired create an other pile which needs to go in the bin.

g. Don't hold on to stuff if they don't fit or you haven't worn since secondary school. If they are in good condition but the love just isn't there any more donate them to charity or sell them on depop.

h. Now that your wardrobes are empty, wash the clothes that need washing. While they are washing organize everything else that can go straight back into your wardrobe. Try using the same hangers as this will make you closet look more minimal a fresh.

i. With the hangers matching and evenly spaced: the clothes are organized by category, style, colour and sleeve length. This makes it so much easier to see what you own and know if you are buying to much of the one colour with the exception of black.

j. Prepare a bag for the dry cleaners, tailor and charity shop and place them in your car to you wont forget to drop them off.

k. After you have tackled your closets, move on to your chest of drawers and shoes throwing old lingerie and sock straight into the bin.

Now that you have all the extra space and can see clearly everything you own you have the perfect excuse to go out and treat your self to something new! As if  you needed the excuse!

Happy Organizing!

Yours Stylishly
